Miss Denise Leung

Speech Therapist

Miss Denise completed her Bachelor in University of Toronto in Canada in 2018, double major in Linguistics and Cognitive Science (Honours) and holds a Masters of Speech Pathology from University of Queensland in Australia.
Her ample career spans diverse healthcare settings, including rehabilitation in hospital, the National Insurance Scheme (NDIS) sector and the community (home visits, kindergarten, elementary schools) in Australia. These experiences have equipped Denise to offer adult and paediatric clients transformative care by focusing on each client’s unique needs and evidenced-based ways to improve function and quality-of-life.

Denise has worked predominantly with paediatric clients with developmental disabilities, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), developmental delay, Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), language and speech sound disorder as well as intellectual disability. She embraces neurodiversity-affirming practices when collaborating with neurodivergent clients, creating a supportive and inclusive environment.

Denise strives to ensure intervention is collaborative, functional, and meaningful by building positive connections with families to support their child in achieving their goals in the home, school and community environments. Denise believes a family centred approach is vital to a child’s success and aims to work closely with other important stakeholders such as parents/caregivers, teachers and other allied health professionals.
