Miss Carmen Chan

Speech Therapist

Miss Carmen Chan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences (1st Class Honour) from The University of Hong Kong. She has practiced in private speech therapy clinics, mainstream primary schools, special child care centres, and special schools. In addition, she has completed clinical placements in kindergartens, community rehabilitation centres, elderly homes, and hospitals. To date, Carmen has provided speech therapy services to over 500 clients, gaining diverse clinical experience and expertise accross language, speech, oral-motor, swallowing, and voice disorders.

 

Carmen is dedicated to tailoring intervention strategies to each client’s unique needs. She develops personalised therapy plans and works in close partnership with parents and caregivers. By strengthening caregivers’ confidence and practical skills, she helps enhance clients’ daily communication and overall functional abilities

 

Qualifications:

•    B.Sc. Speech & Hearing Sciences (1st Class Honour), The University of Hong Kong
•    Member of the Hong Kong Association of Speech Therapists (HKAST)

 

Professional development:

•    Certified in Oral Placement Therapy Level 1 & 2 (TALKTOOLS OPT)
•    Trained in Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets (PROMPT

Clinical experience:

•    Private speech therapy clinic
•    School-based service in mainstream primary school
•    Special child care centre (SCCC)
•    Special school for children with mild intellectual disabilities
•    Special school for children with moderate to severe intellectual and multiple disabilities
